RE: United States Environmental Protection Agency
The temperature of Earth is rising due to large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. Earths's average temperature has risen by 1.4 farenheit over the past century, and is projected to rise another 2 to 11.5 farenheit over the next hundred years. If nothing is done to stop, or slow down the carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere the temperature will continue to rise over time.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency has been focusing on this issue since December 2, 1970 when they were first established. EPA's mission is to protect human health and the environment. EPA accomplishes this by, developing and enforcing regulations, giving grants, studying environmental issues, sponsoring partnerships, teaching people about the environment, and publishing information. Sometimes people encounter problems they think EPA would handle but in truth does not, so EPA states the environmental concerns they do not handle, and gives suggestions on who might be able to help. Even though EPA works for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people, EPA interacts a lot with differnt governments and organizations, because EPA believes that protecting the environment concerns everyone.
EPA's website provides contact information and how to get in touch with them. EPA is available through e-mail or a hotline. They also have headquarters and regional offices. Their websites provide each address and each phone number for each of their headquarters, and regional offices. On the website their is a newsroom which provides current news and links to EPA and other climate and energy news releases. The dates are placed next to each news release to show the reader when the event took place. It is also possible to access their libraries where you can get information about the environment and related scientific, technical, management, and policy information. EPA allows people to view their mission plan and what they do, on their website. It states clearly everything that they do to try and accomplish their mission of protecting human health and the environment. On the side panel their is information stating how one can work with EPA whether it is a career, grant, partnership, contract, or financial services. They also have a directory assistance which enables you to identify EPA employees by name and location. EPA also uses social media tools to further connect with the community.
EPA's website provides information on how to reduce emissions. It gives information to the public stating how to reduce emission at home, on the road, at the office, and at school. The information provided is very clear and easy to read and understand. On the side of the page their are related links that provide further information on how to reduce emissions, and their is a box with random facts about the benefits of reducing your emission. It provides knowledgable information in each category, stating what works best at home, on the road, at the office, or at school. EPA does their best to make the page interesting and informational at the same time.
